WEBINAR: New Developments For Faster, More Cost-Effective DNV Container Certification

Posted by Blaine LaFleur on Jul 23, 2018

An introduction to planned updates to DNV GL’s 2-7.1 Standard for Offshore Containers and our new container certification service.

Today’s offshore container market is under pressure to produce approved container designs in shorter timeframes and certified units more cost effectively.

In this webinar, DNV discusses how DNV GL is addressing this challenge through a new digital container certification service. They outline updates they are planning for DNVGL-ST-E271, the industry’s go-to Standard for offshore containers.

This webinar will feature:

  • A new digital container certification tool: a faster, more predictable route to design approval, reducing turnaround times by up to 50%. We will demonstrate how it validates information and input, and gives instant feedback, in addition to identifying potential design issues and offering tips to resolve them.

  • A broader range of survey options: an overview of the options for cost efficient certification tailored to manufacturers’ needs. These include traditional on-site surveillance; remote surveillance using existing live-feed technology from smartphones or tablets; and manufacturing survey arrangements, where DNV GL presence is not always required.

  • Forthcoming updates to DNVGL-ST-E271: an overview of planned improvements to the international standard for the certification of offshore containers.

This webinar will be of interest to professionals working within container certification such as project managers, design engineers, quality managers, supply chain and fabrication managers.

The webinar can also inform professional engineering consultants who are just curious to know more.
